According to the European Commission, the Utrecht region is once again one the most competitive region in Europe, after Stockholm  (EU Regional Competitiveness Index (RCI) 2019,  survey of 268 regions). Since the RCI was launched in 2010, Utrecht has been ranked one of the most competitive regions in Europe. The region has continually achieved high scores, across the entire scope of the survey.
