Utrecht: making healthy urban living a reality

PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency and the city council of Utrecht jointly  organised the opening event of the EU Green Week 2018.

The kick off was held on 21 May 2018 in Utrecht with Mayor Jan van Zanen stating “We are ready to inspire and be inspired by cities around Europe and the World”. All levels of government were present at this event, celebrating green cities for a greener future.

Green cities do better. They offer better quality of life and new opportunities for business. Utrecht – just like many cities across Europe – is expanding, calling into question how cities can develop yet be a healthy place to live.
